José María Fernández de Vega
José María Fernández de Vega is passionate about animation and illustration since childhood, and after technical training in various engineering studies he decided to leave the beaten path and experience with digital art, especially with 3D design and animation which he learned self-taught.
In 2004 he created a 3D design studio and made his first professional foray into the sector with a 2D animation film “El Secreto de Aguaviva” (The secret of Aguaviva). In 2010, because of the increased demand for projects, he decided to split the business activity into two business lines and created Glow Animation, focused exclusively on the audio-visual world, with presence in Portugal, France, Germany and Panama.
The first own production of The Glow is “Genti di Muerti“, a short fantasy film created with a team composed almost 100% with people from Extremadura over the past 2 years, in which every effort was made to reach larger markets. This short film was selected in 2015 in the Official Section of the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival, and in 2015, he won the edition of the Paranormal Media Festival in Italy and the Award for Best Screenplay at the Sustefest in Mexico. That same year he began to produce a feature film based on the audio-visual adaptation of a comic called “Buñuel en el Laberinto de las Tortugas” (Buñuel in the labyrinth of the Turtles).
